Dr. Ramón Sánchez, a professor and researcher at Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU), received the Annual Teacher Excellence Award for Higher Education, Science, and Technology. This award was part of the 2025 Teaching and Education Excellence Awards, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (MESCyT) and the Ministry of Education (MINERD).
The ceremony at the National Palace was led by President Luis Abinader Corona. Attending were Vice President Raquel Peña; MESCyT Minister Franklin García Fermín; and Education Minister Luis Miguel De Camps.
A total of 16 educators were recognized—six from the pre-university level and ten from the university level—for their outstanding careers, dedication, and service vocations. Each received a cash prize. The event was part of the celebrations for National Teacher’s Day.
About Dr. Ramón Sánchez
Dr. Ramón Sánchez is a professor and researcher at the UNPHU School of Science and Technology. He holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Texas at El Paso and a PhD in Education Sciences from Florida Global University. Currently, he is the principal investigator leading the FONDOCYT-UNPHU project on bioactive microencapsulation.
