Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU), through the Environmental and Natural Resources Directorate, held the technical discussion table «Oceans and Responsible Consumption», taught by Dr. Paola Tineo, environmentalist, founder of the Zero Store, expert in sustainability, climate change and eco-friendly lifestyles and Someira Zambrano, director of the Dominican Reef Network, geographer of the Central University of Venezuela.
During the conference, the importance of carefully managing the oceans, a key global resource for a sustainable future, was discussed, and emphasis was placed on how sustainable consumption will not only protect this resource, but also enhance resilience to climate change and the loss of biodiversity.
The event was attended by the Director of Environment and Natural Resources of UNPHU, Eng. Dolly Martínez, who offered the words of welcome.


The event was aimed at raising awareness of responsible consumption and care for our oceans and reefs and was aimed at the entire UNPHU student community; it was held on June 1, 2023, in the Conference Room of Building 3.
