School of Economic and Social Sciences
The School of Economic and Social Sciences was created at the same time that the university was founded in 1966. It has the second largest number of alumni in economic and social science careers in the country, who occupy positions in the government, banking, and a wide variety of private firms. Most of its professors hold master´s degrees in the areas of their specialization, and it has agreements with numerous national and international institutions, including the Superintendence of Securities of the Dominican Republic, Peat & Marwick and the ENAE Business School of Spain.
Within the scope of the degree programs it offers, this School seeks to fulfill the university´s overall mission of achieving the integral development of human resources as ideal agents to forge the changes required by society, and contribute to the success of labor and business within the cannons of ethics, science, and technology.
The School seeks to fulfill its social commitment by offering academic excellence and the training of alumni who, in addition to professional skills, possess a sense of a call to service, critical and creative thinking, strong leadership, and the ability to apply their knowledge to the advance of their companies and of society in general.
